Our Story

Our journey began in October 2025 when we launched our very first secure dog field, aiming to diversify the farm and offer something unique for pets and owners. It was a long road to get there; a scorched, dry summer made the ground too hard to work, delaying our opening until the crisp autumn months.

George Wallis and Rosie Lowe, founders of Ewelme Dog Fields & Training Academy with their Cocker Spaniel, Gunner at Christmas time.

Following the warm reception of Ewelme Dog Field, we introduced The Orchard in December. This space focuses on natural enrichment, filled with trees and tall grass for exploration. Every element here, from the shelters to the layouts, was designed by us and built by George, while Rosie manages the digital side of things, like our website and social media.

With a love for working breeds and a real respect for what they do, we knew we wanted to start offering training here and just needed to find someone to help make that happen. After an initial learning curve, we found Jennie!

Jennie arrived and shared our distinct vision for the academy, along with the expertise to make it happen. She joined us alongside her fantastic friend and assistant Carol, who has become an essential part of our family. Those who attend their classes can immediately see the special synergy they bring to the training ground.

Jennie also knew Charley, who had taken a short break from training to have a baby and was ready to get back into it – which she certainly did. Charley came as a package deal with her sister and now class assistant, Libby. As a former head veterinary nurse, Libby brings a huge amount of knowledge and calm, practical support to every class, making Charley’s sessions even stronger.

Our trainers follow an ethical code where animal welfare is the primary focus. They possess advanced qualifications and craft their own curricula, avoiding the shortcuts of generic certifications. Each dog is treated as an individual, receiving a level of expert care and structured learning that goes far beyond a typical local class.

We are still in the early chapters of our tale, with our first field opening less than a year ago. We invite you to enroll in a course, meet our staff, and grow with us. Our goal is to flourish not just as a training center, but as a vibrant community for dedicated dog owners and their beloved companions.
