Ewelme Dog Training Academy – Terms & Conditions

1. Acceptance of These Terms

By booking any class, course, workshop, 1-2-1 session, event or service with Ewelme Dog Training Academy (“the Academy”, “we”, “our” or “us”), you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions.

These Terms apply to all services provided by Ewelme Dog Training Academy.

 

2. Bookings & Payment

All bookings must be made through our website unless otherwise agreed.

Payment must be made in full at the time of booking to secure your place.

Your booking is only confirmed once payment has been successfully received and you have received a confirmation email.

Places on courses are limited and are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.

 

3. Course Transfers, Cancellations & Refunds

All bookings are non-refundable.

If you are unable to attend your booked course, workshop or session, we require a minimum of three weeks’ notice before the course start date to transfer your booking to an alternative date, subject to availability.

Transfer requests made with less than three weeks’ notice cannot be guaranteed and may be refused.

Failure to attend a course or session without prior notice will result in the loss of your booking.

Missed classes within a course cannot be refunded, credited or carried forward.

Should Ewelme Dog Training Academy need to cancel or postpone a course, an alternative date or full refund will be offered.

 

4. Weather

Training takes place outdoors throughout the year.

Please dress appropriately for the weather.

Should weather conditions become unsafe, we reserve the right to reschedule sessions or move them to an alternative suitable location.

Participants will be notified as soon as reasonably possible.

 

5. Dog Health Requirements

All dogs attending must:

  • Be fit and healthy.

  • Not be suffering from any contagious illness.

  • Be free from vomiting, diarrhoea or infectious disease.

  • Have appropriate vaccinations or acceptable veterinary titre testing where applicable.

  • Be treated appropriately for fleas and worms.

Owners must not bring dogs showing signs of illness.

We reserve the right to refuse entry to any dog we believe may pose a health risk.

 

6. Behaviour & Suitability

Owners must provide honest and accurate information regarding their dog’s behaviour during the booking process.

If your dog has shown aggression towards people or other dogs, has severe behavioural concerns, or is unsuitable for a group environment, you must inform us before booking.

Some dogs may be more suitable for private training before joining group classes.

We reserve the right to refuse entry or recommend alternative services if we believe this is in the best interests of your dog, other participants or our staff.

 

7. Owner Responsibilities

Owners remain fully responsible for their dog at all times.

Dogs must remain under control throughout the session.

Unless specifically instructed by your trainer, dogs must remain on a lead.

Owners are responsible for cleaning up after their dogs immediately.

Children are welcome where appropriate but must remain under adult supervision at all times.

 

8. Welfare Standards

Ewelme Dog Training Academy is committed to ethical, reward-based dog training.

We do not permit the use of harsh handling, intimidation or aversive training methods during our classes.

Any participant found mistreating a dog, behaving aggressively towards another participant, or acting abusively towards staff may be asked to leave immediately.

In these circumstances, no refund will be given.

 

9. Safety

Participants attend entirely at their own risk.

Whilst every reasonable effort is made to provide a safe training environment, dog training involves inherent risks.

Owners accept responsibility for any injury, damage or loss caused by themselves or their dog.

 

10. Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Ewelme Dog Training Academy accepts no responsibility for:

  • Injury to participants.

  • Injury to dogs.

  • Loss or damage to personal belongings.

  • Damage caused by one participant’s dog to another person, dog or property.

Nothing within these Terms limits liability where such limitation would be unlawful.

 

11. Equipment

Only suitable training equipment may be used during classes.

We may ask owners not to use equipment that we believe could compromise welfare or safety.

Suitable rewards should be brought to each session unless otherwise advised.

 

12. Photography & Marketing

Photographs and videos may occasionally be taken during classes for use on our website, social media and other promotional materials.

By attending, you consent to the possible use of images containing yourself or your dog.

If you would prefer not to appear in photographs or videos, please inform a member of staff before your session.

 

13. Privacy

Personal information collected during the booking process will be handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable UK data protection legislation.

We will never sell your personal data to third parties.

 

14. Changes to Services

We reserve the right to amend course content, instructors, venues, class sizes or timings where necessary.

Where significant changes occur, customers will be informed as soon as reasonably practicable.

 

15. Website Accuracy

Whilst we endeavour to ensure all information on our website is accurate, occasional errors may occur.

We reserve the right to correct pricing errors, amend course descriptions or update information without prior notice.

 

16. Governing Law

These Terms & Conditions shall be governed by the laws of England and Wales.

Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

17. Competitions

1. Competitions are only to UK residents aged 18 years or over unless stated otherwise.

2. The prize will be as described in the competition post and is subject to availability. No cash alternative will be offered.

3. Winners will be selected at random from all eligible entries and contacted using the details provided. If a winner does not respond within 7 days, we reserve the right to select another winner.

4. Where the prize includes a dog training course or other dog-related services, we reserve the right to asses whether the service is suitable for the winner's dog. If we believe the service is not appropriate, the winner may nominate one friend or immediate family member to receive the prize instead. In all other circumstances, prizes are non-transferable and may not be sold, exchanged or redeemed for cash.

5. Prizes must e redeemed within the timescale stated in the competition. If the winner is unable to attend any of the available dates or redeem the prize within the stated period, no alternative, refund or extension will be offered unless agreed at our discretion.

6. If a prize has been booked on a specific date, it may be transferred to another available date once only, provided at least 21 days notice is given. Requests received with less than 21 days notice may result in the prize being forfieted. 

7. Winners are responsible for any travel, accommodation or additional costs associated with claiming their prize unless otherwise stated.

8. We reserve the right to substitute the prize with another of equal or greater value if circumstances beyond our control make this necessary.

9. We reserve the right to amend, suspend or withdraw any competition at any time where reasonably necessary.

10. Any entry that is incomplete, fraudulent or does not comply with the entry requirements may be disqualified. 

11. By entering a competition, entrants agree to these terms and conditions and consent to Ewelme Dog Training Academy announcing the winners first name and surname initial, unless otherwise requested.

12. These terms and conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales.

By attending Ewelme Dog Training Academy, you agree to:

- Treat our team, other clients and their dogs with kindness and respect.

- Follow the instructions of our trainers at all times to help ensure the safety of everyone attending.

- Use kind and humane training methods. Any mistreatment of a dog will not be tolerated.

- Respect our facilities, equipment and surrounding property.

We reserve the right to ask any person to leave a session, or refuse future bookings, if their behaviour, or the treatment of their dog, is considered unsafe, abusive, disruptive or inappropriate, in these circumstances, refunds will not be given.
